How to Use the Pause Button Feature

Busy restaurants rejoice: the Pause Button is here to give you a break! With Ordrslip’s new feature, you can slow down or stop orders at any time — so you can focus on orders already in the queue.

Once you’re ready for more customers, you can resume orders by simply hitting “unpause.” It’s that easy!

Setting Up The Pause Feature


Enable Pause Button in Admin Dashboard

To turn on this feature, go to your Admin Dashboard and enable “Pause Mobile/Online Ordering.”

You'll need to click:
  1. Configurations
  2. Locations
  3. Select the location you want to pause ordering at 
  4. Toggle ON the pause mobile ordering button
Once enabled, your staff can pause ordering at any time in the Ordrslip Admin Dashboard or the Order Fulfillment Kiosk (OFK).

Next, Choose The Fulfillment Types to Pause

Our Pause Button allows your staff to choose what order types to pause, including pickup, delivery, or curbside.

You can choose the fulfillment types in the Admin Dashboard, or if you use OFK you can complete this step there.
To continue configuring the pause feature in the Admin Dashboard:
Click the blue "pause orders" button in the right hand corner. 
Once you click that, you will be presented with a list of your fulfillment types that you can pause. 
This list will vary, and depends on what you have setup and enabled for your restaurant. 


Pause Orders In Ordrslip Kiosk (OFK)

If you use OFK to receive your mobile orders, you need to make sure you have toggled ON the pause orders button. Once you do this, you can enable/disable the pause feature from OFK and do not need to go to the Ordrslip Admin Dashboard after you turn this option on. 
Note: If you do not see the pause option in your side menu bar, you do not have it toggled ON in the Ordrslip Admin Dashboard. Login, toggle it on and then it will appear as an option for you to access in OFK. 

How to Pause Orders in OFK:

  1. Tap the the three lines in the top right corner of OFK
  2. Click Pause New Orders 
  3. Select the red Pause Orders button
  4. Choose from the fulfillment types shown and pause what you want to pause

Orders in Queue

Pausing orders won’t impact your orders in the queue, so your staff can catch up!

Customer Notification

Customers and guests who want to place an order during your pause time will see a prompt in the app that says “Currently Not Accepting Orders.” They won’t be able to place an order (including future orders) and are asked to check back later.

Ready To Unpause/Resume Orders?


Resuming Orders In OFK:
Restart orders at any time! Click “Resume Orders” to resume taking orders again.


Resuming Orders In Admin Dashboard:
  1. Click Configurations
  2. Then Locations and select the location you paused orders at
  3. Tap the green "resume orders" button 

Best Practices for the Pause Button

Keeping the Pause Button feature enabled will allow staff members to catch up on orders without receiving more orders during the paused time. While this is a good feature to have, make sure you are checking your fulfillment statuses to ensure you are accepting orders when you want. Use your judgment on pausing orders often, since customers will see a notice that your location is not accepting orders at that time.
